Counting was not always done in 10’s and 100’s. This activity teaches how counting was done in 4000 BCE and asks students to try their hand at a few sums. Finally can they spot the first mathematical mistake ever recorded!</p>

<p>Find out what can be made from milk. A fun practical activity that uses simple materials. Links to Yr5 National Curriculum. Best done in two sessions. In the first make casein plastic using milk and vinegar, then reverse the reaction with bicarbonate of soda to make casein glue. Mould the plastic in milk bottle tops and glue lolly sticks together with the glue. Leave for a couple of weeks then test the strength of the glue and use sandpaper and drills to make buttons.</p>
