A series of activities introducing Brecht and Epic Theatre. After students have taken part in a variety activities, the PowerPoint introduces The Caucasian Chalk Circle and students have the opportunity to explore the key themes within this play. The PowerPoint could be split into multiple lessons and completed over a series of weeks. The PowerPoint has been designed for students taking BTEC Level 3 Performing Arts (Unit 19 and Unit 2) but this can be used in any lesson where students need to explore the key features of this style. This workshop is a practical introduction to Stanislavski and Naturalistic Acting. It is designed for students taking BTEC Level 3 Performing Arts Unit 2 and Unit 19, but could be adapted for other units and for students taking BTEC Level 2. The lesson PowerPoint contains theoretical information, alongside a series of practical activities that explores this style of theatre and gives students the opportunity to explore the specific features and skills within the style. BTEC LEVEL 1/2 TECH AWARD IN PERFORMING ARTS (DANCE APPROACH) COMPONENT 1 A student friendly checklist covering the required information for Learning Aim and Learning Aim B. This checklist is for a Dance Approach, but could be easily adapted for an Acting/Performing Arts approach. Students can use the checklist to help them compile their evidence for Learning Aim A and B. It includes guidance questions to further support students. A work booklet with a variety of activities and tasks that students can complete remotely. The booklet includes links to YouTube clips to support the completion of the tasks. The entirety of the booklet can be completed independently by students, although lessons could be taught alongside the booklet. The booklet is designed for year 8/9 students who have had some experience of KS3 Drama, however, as it is a Word document, it can be adapted for year 7 students or developed further. This is also a good preparation booklet for students moving onto BTEC Tech Award Level 1/2 in Performing Arts due to the introduction of roles and responsibilities.
