This was a feedback on a mock exam and so is a bit specific to my class. I hazard a guess the same issues will come up for most teachers, so I've left some slides in. The last half is skills.

This is a lesson on Smart Drugs for IB Year 2 revision. It looks at the topic of Smart Drugs, the conventions of articles and builds up to a practice Paper 2 Section A question. This could be used across a double and the exam practice set for homework…or could be used across a series of lessons.

This lesson explores the nature of power and tyranny with links to modern day politics. There also includes a practice question at the end, suitable for homework or a mock exam. The lesson looks at propaganda, scapegoating and delusion of tyrannical leaders and dictators as well as analysing scenes from Macbeth.

This lesson sequence should take around 3-4 lessons. It is aimed to introduce students to some of the key areas, assessment objectives and exam requirements of the A Level. The lessons look at the journey of English and its influences so it touches upon language change, diversity and requires students to start reading critically and forming their own arguments. It aims to address Paper 2 of the English Language spec.

Good for context - planned for IB Diploma English Lit and Lang, but could be used for GCSE and A Level as well.

Paper 2 Section B revision but can be used for any essay writing element of the course. Students pass around sheets of A3 with a collaborative essay built to three different plans.
