This guided reading resource is designed for educators, with one goal in mind: to make teaching and learning a breeze while achieving remarkable results. Each week you will have either a 3/4 day plan on the chapters you are focusing on at that time. There are then VIPERS questions that align with those chapters for teachers to model responses and for students to work independently. This follows an ‘I do’ ‘We do’ ‘You do’ approach to learning. This resource dives into the key components of reading comprehension: Vocabulary, Inference, Prediction, Explanation, Retrieval, and Summarization (VIPERS). With these materials, students will develop a nuanced understanding of texts and learn to analyze them critically. Everything is on the powerpoint ready to go up on the IWB or to print from. You will be required to have the text handy to complete this plan.
