Teach the children how to use each strategy. Once they have a good understanding of each, provide problems and students select the best strategy that will help them solve that problem. Teaching children to work mathematically. Incorporate this into your warm ups before the maths lesson each day.
The students in my class love problem solving time! Their confidence has increased dramatically.
The students will learn about force as a push or pull on an object which can cause an object to accelerate, slow down, remain in place, change direction and/or shape. They will explore the concepts of force and the effects of force on objects they encounter as they investigate Newton’s Laws of Motion through hands on experiences and experiments including sport equipment, paper helicopters, parachutes and straw rockets. The students will also investigate how everyday materials can be physically changed and combined for particular purposes.
3 sets of maths goals and resources.
Each pack contains an overview of the goal, tests for students to complete and a tracking sheet for students to record their scores.
The score motivates the students to improve each time.
Great warm up/counting activities before the maths lesson.
Great way to report to parents and show students strengths and weaknesses.
Students answer the questions after reading a book. Great Guided Reading activity. Cards are numbered. Students may roll a die which dictates which question they answer. This stop the students from selecting the same questions each time.
Use these resources to help your students improve their knowledge of addition and subtraction. Students complete the tests and record their score on the tracking sheet for parents.
Help your students improve their recall of basic subtraction facts with these strategies. Tests and tracking sheet provided.
My students love working towards their goal.
