<p>A full scheme of work written for KS3 (taught to Y8) about murder/mystery writing. The scheme includes extracts from a variety of mystery novels. It focuses on SPaG and also contains a number or reading and analysis opportunities.</p>
<p>This is a whole scheme of work that looks at the theme of the supernatural. The scheme consists of a wide range of tasks from narrative and descriptive writing, speaking and listening and analysis. Texts covered include A Christmas Carol, Harry Potter, Medusa and The Witches.<br />
There are over 30 completed lessons and resources and a writing assessment (along with a prep lessons to teach before the assessment.) All lessons are engaging and have been taught to the whole of Y7. Lessons mirror the AQA English Lang and Lit spec but are obviously suitable for KS3.</p>

<p>Three lessons on The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. The first two lessons are about analysis and writing about an extract. The third lesson is a creative writing lesson. Suitable for KS3 and KS4.</p>
<p>A lesson using Maya Angelou’s ‘Still I Rise’ poem. The lesson was based around inspiring women. In the lesson we VISIT the poem and analyse language, form and structure. Suitable for both KS3 and 4. Links to AQA Spec.</p>

One lesson is creative writing, the second is drama and the third compares two extracts about witches (fiction and non-fiction.)<br />

<p>Five lessons all about Harry Potter. The first lesson focuses on the KS4 Evaluate skill (AQA) and creating a character. The second lesson is descriptive writing and analysis (AO1 and AO2). The third lesson is persuasive writing and speaking and listening.</p>

<p>A poetry analysis lesson for KS3 looking at VISITING an unseen poem. The poem is called The Vampire by Jack Preludsky. The lesson looks at vocabulary, analysing language and structure and writing up an analysis paragraph. The lesson also contains differentiated slides.</p>
