A guided reading resource aimed at years 4 and 5 to study Michael Morpurgo's 'King of the Cloud Forests'. Most slides have a learning objective, and those that don't have the resources for the LO on the slide before. These lessons were planned for guided reading lessons which are 30 minutes long, please feel free to expand and embellish for longer lessons and more detailed study.

For use after lessons in which children have been shown how to create line and column graphs in Excel. LO: To create an accurate graph in Excel comparing at least one set of statistics. Cross-curricular links: Numeracy, History, Topic.

This is a differentiated Guided Reading scheme to cover 5 lessons (roughly half hour per lesson), with learning objectives linked to band 3 and 4 Target Tracker statements. I have used it to link in with our Ancient Italy topic, and the lessons have been arranged in a way that promotes group and independent learning.

Three lessons of guided reading plan and resources around the tribes of the rainforest. The learning objectives of each lesson are tailored to different Y4 Target Tracker statements. This scheme is useful for helping the children find their own information when writing non-chronological reports in literacy.

This game requires the children to work in teams and run around whilst identifying SPaG from the current Y3/4 curriculum (noun, adjective, adverb, determiner, fronted adverbial, speech, proper noun, expanded noun phrase). You will need access to an IWB or similar, and space to hide sentence slips for the children to hunt out. There is a short activity for the children to complete in their books after the game to consolidate learning and assess understanding.

This 4/5 lesson geography scheme planned for Y5 classes includes coordinates, statistics and population density mapping in accordance with the current national curriculum. Consists of 1 PPT (covering all four lessons) informative resources and differentiated worksheets where required. The graph-based lesson can be used in tandem with maths teaching to add some cross-curricular depth and application.
