Play snakes and ladders by solving the equation (simple multiplication/division, unknown on one side, unknown on two sides) to find out how many moves, differentiated cards for high, medium and low abilities. Could be easily adapted for other areas of algebra such as substitution and rearranging.
Covers all six rules of indices. Based on the game of boxes, pupils take turns to draw an edge of any box, whomever completes the box on their turn must evaluate the number in the box to earn points. 5 for a blue box, 3 for a yellow and 1 for a green. The winner has the most points.
Simply number the blocks in a Jenga tower 1-24 (you may need to do two of each number), pupils then take turns to pull out a block to reveal its number. The number correlates to a numbered square on the powerpoint, which takes you to a slide containing 3 progressively harder questions. Pupils can then attempt the questions within a time limit according to ability. The arrow at the bottom of each slide takes you back to the title slide to start again. Can be adapted to include different topics.
