Introduction to employment sectors<br />
Pupils have to collect data and draw a pie chart as the main task.
<p>Part of the introduction lessons on Brazil- this will take a double lesson.<br />
This lesson introduce pupils to the physical and human features of Brazil.<br />
Starter- watch a ‘Welcome to Brazil’ video.<br />
Introductory facts, size, captial city etc.<br />
Main activity- around the room task, pupils make a table in their books<br />
Picture number description physical or human?</p>
<p>As pupils work their way around the room they will collect information, filling this table in as they go.<br />
Activity 2- Use atlases for assistance, locate them on a map of Brazil.<br />
Plenary- postcard home.</p>
This is lesson 1 of a SOW I produced on Africa <br />

This lesson introduces pupils to the location of Africa, countries within it and it's physical and human features.
<p>I put this together for low ability year 8<br />
Lesson includes a starter that is a recap on the location and formation of a tornado.<br />
Main activity- un-jumble the Enhanced Fujita Scale and put it in the correct order. Pupils then annotate the images describing the destruction. Using the Fujita scale correctly match up the images to the intensity (F0-F5) .<br />
Create a poster telling people what to do in a tornado.<br />
Plenary- There is an interactive storm scale that pupils can look at and categorize accordingly.</p>

Introduces pupils to religion, language, people, and living conditions of Africa. <br />
hand-out to be filled in as the lesson goes on that contains challenge questions called 'OSB' (one-step-beyond) <br />
