This resource includes 22 photo cards for all AQA topics covered in the new Spanish GCSE. Every slide has a photo card with a timer (2 or 5 minutes) and the possibility to use some scaffolding with essential expressions to use. The photo cards are differentiated according to the tiers. It also includes some tips for the exam. This resource can be used as a classroom resource as a starter/plenary, as a part of carousel lessons, in intervention during the lead up to the GCSE speaking exams or it could also be given to pupils as a tool for individual revision. Hope it’s helpful! :)

Lesson planned around the “La pire excuse”(the worst excuse) campaign by Sorry Children (https://sorrychildren.com/en) that encourages people to fight against climate change using the imperfect tense. The campaign focuses on people’s cheap excuses for not doing anything The lesson comprises a couple of differentiated Instagram posts as starters, key vocabulary, dominoes (translation), and a text(listening and reading skills), which can be updated and adapted, and a second campaign “la meilleur action”(the best action), in order to practise speaking or writing. If you’re using the campaing in French, do go to their website, it’s fun but also really informative and they have lots of ideas on how to start doing something for the environment that students can research in French

Hard times coming our way and our students need more support than ever. Share with them this very simple strategy that they can use at home should they need to ground if they’re feeling stressed or anxious. With this resource you get to teach Spanish (structures with “poder + infinitive” and vocabulary related to the 5 senses) as well as investing in their mental wellbeing. Happy meditating :)

Youth Culture Busca! game - family & friends

Great game to learn new or revise already learned vocab. Although there are many variations of the game, the main thing is that there is one match (and only one) between every two cards. There is a card in the centre and players race to find what image their pile has in common with the centre card. When they find it, they yell it out and take the card. It now becomes their new “top” card and a new centre card is drawn. The player with the most at the end wins. They love the fact that it is fast and addictive! I have adapted the game to GCSE theme 1 vocabulary that my students either find difficult to remember or don’t use enough. The vocab sheet is attached for students’ reference during the game
