<p>Teaching about family and friends through topic based learning (Harry Potter). This lesson covers family members and briefly revisits phonics and introducing oneself. I used it with Year 7 beginners and they loved it. The activities attached are a Hogwarts Application form, as well as a short reading comprehension.</p>

<p>A booklet designed with the AQA GCSE French course in mind, this covers almost all topics with a variety of different exam style activities, including role play and photocards to prepare, translations, writing questions and gapfill tasks. It also contains literary style questions with corresponding tasks (some taken from Specimen Papers). I used it for my year 10s over the Summer holidays.</p>

<p>A revision of the preterite and imperfect tenses and when to use each within the context of free-time activities. Starter is in the style of the GCSE writing exam - students have to write four sentences about a photo. There is also a writing activity in the style of the GCSE paper at the end, as well as a model which students could grade themselves, using the AQA markscheme. Took my year 10s a double lesson to complete.</p>

<p>A lesson covering reflexive verbs to do with talking about relationships with others <em>(llevarse, pelearse etc.)</em> and 2 worksheets to help students to practice this - one adapted from an online resource and another is a reading worksheet. All activities are in the style of the exam questions and are designed to help students develop these skills.</p>

Includes a vocabulary sheet and homework sheet. Activities to print in the powerpoint include battleships to encourage speaking. Lasted a double lesson with my year 10 class (1 hour 40 minutes)</p>

<p>2 page learn sheet for AQA GCSE Theme 1, Topic 1 (Me, my family and friends). Includes all vocab for the topic (taken from the subject specification) broken down into categories plus 2 worksheets of exercises including translations, a photocard and an exam style question.</p>

<p>A lesson to give information about school in Spain (some information taken from TES - many thanks), then introducing the school subjects in Spanish before looking at creating complex sentences and structures to give opinions. Homework reading comprehension sheet included with questions and answers in Spanish.</p>

<p>Powerpoint that goes through playing an instrument and different music genres as well as giving opinions (and use of articles - eg. escucho pop pero me gusta la música pop. Some links to Spanish songs for students to listen to and discuss/give their opinion on. Guided AQA GCSE role-play card at the end.</p>

<p>A lesson covering when to use the verbs <em>ser</em> and <em>estar</em>. There’s a powerpoint to go through with students - I tried to get mine to figure out when to use each verb through the example sentences at the beginning but feel free to do as you wish!<br /> Worksheets attached go with the powerpoint to allow students to practice when to use each verb. There is also an extension worksheet (some information taken from TES with thanks).</p>

Adapted from a resource originally taken from TES (thank you!), there are descriptions of the vast majority of tenses to cover those needed at GCSE for the new spec, as well as specific grammar points (eg. si clauses). Also useful as revision for A level. There is an explanation of each tense followed by exercises to practise. At the back there are also practice translations.

<code>This lesson covers different animals (some of which are not the most common but are suitable magical pets!), as well as adjectives. Following on from this presentation, students were asked to describe another two characters from Harry Potter and also draw and write about their ideal pet. Suitable for a higher ability year 7 Spanish class.</code>

<p>Brief introduction then 8 different activities (some exam-style, some vocabulary or skills-based) to be completed in relay fashion. Students work in pairs and all start with activity 1. As they complete activities you mark them, and if they are correct then get the next sheet. Works well as a competition.</p>

<p>A presentation introducing the vocabulary of school facilities including a listening (read by teacher), reading and speaking activity. Then moves on to introduce the imperfect tense and comparing primary school and secondary school.</p>

There is a listening comprehension at the end with a transcript to be read aloud by the teacher (I cannot take credit for the transcript, only the comprehension questions).</p>

<p>A revision resource with 4 pages of vocabulary and grammar based on the Freetime and Leisure activities topic, then a couple of pages of exercises practicing this vocabulary and these grammar skills with exam-style questions.</p>

<p>A lesson used with GCSE to issue complaints in a hotel. Students then prepared and performed 2 AQA exam role plays on the theme of holidays.</p>

<p>A lesson powerpoint covering different modes of transport and also holiday activities in the preterite, present and simple future tenses. From this, students were then asked to answer and exam-style writing question on holidays.</p>

<p>Goes through film genres and tv programme vocabulary in Spanish as well as how to give opinions. Also briefly explains how to use the verb gustar. Final activity consists of an AQA GCSE photocard on cinema, although questions could be adapted for individual students.</p>
