KS3/4 Plate Tectonics PBL

A fantastic ‘Project Based Learning’ task for KS3/4 students who are studying Plate Tectonics. I developed this to see if independent research and tasks would work. we had amazing results! I used this as a single piece of homework for the entire half term and the results were incredible. there we Volcano cakes, huge detailed models, case studies, moving earthquake models, they were all extremely detailed.

the task has several parts, students must complete:
a model (edible or not)
a detailed newspaper article about the causes, impacts and responses of their chosen hazard
a leaflet about protection from their chosen hazard
a detailed map with explanation of their chosen case study

good luck!
