<p>Speaking assessment project targeted at KS4 students after reviewing the topic jobs and professions. I used it with my high ability year 9 Spanish as a foreign language students in a Spanish school.</p> <p>The pack contains:</p> <ul> <li>PPT presentation with a video as initial stimulus.</li> <li>Instructions and success criteria in English, in a separate document.</li> <li>teacher assessment document.</li> <li>peer assessment document to ensure engagement during each others’ video/presentation.</li> </ul>

<p>Lesson sequence on an episode of the Spanish TV series <em>los misterios de Laura</em>. Students watch the TV series together with the teacher or independently (if set i.e. as summer homework) and work on the activities as they go along. The final activity is to write an alternative ending for the episode.</p> <p>This lesson sequence was used as a transition project for a high-ability year 9 MFL class in an Spanish school, hence the small introduction on the International GCSE (edexcel). <p>Word document with an article adapted from the newspaper el Mundo followed by comprehension questions, a writing exercise, a table to write down difficult vocabulary and a reminder of reflexive verbs. Works well with high ability year 9 or iGCSE students.</p>

Very general worksheet that can be used for the first minutes of the film. Students can complete it while they are watching it or afterwards.

Presentation guide and peer assessment slides on the proyect &quot;La educación&quot; of pages 72 and 73 of the ¡Viva! 1 textbook. The peer assessment grid can be cut out or they can reproduce it in their books.

Match-up activity in which students have to read the descriptions and match them with the family it is describing - print and cut out the slides and get them to match them up individually or in pairs. I used it with a top set year 7 to introduce the topic family and they obviously did not understand everything but could get the gist of it. It can be ammended and used with different years.

Powerpoint based on the Stimmt! 2 textbook with a couple of slides in which students need to find the pug Henry and say where it is e. g. &quot;Henry ist auf dem Tisch&quot;. The slide can be printed out and the pug cut out separately for students to play the same game in pairs.

Two slides with sentences in English and in German, where students have to work out whether the preposition refers to a location (Dativ) or a movement (Akkusativ). Goes with pages 60, 69 of the Stimmt! 3 textbook.

In this lesson, students watch two performances of the Voice of Germany. They are encouraged to scribble down adjectives while they are watching which describe their first impressions on the singers. Then, they read a text comparing both and choosing one over the other - they are supposed to write a text similar to that one but with their own opinion. The previous lessons we had been studying the comparative. The model text can be updated and improved. It pairs well with pages 30 and 31 of the Stimmt! 3 Textbook.
