I send these out during a child's focus week, so parents can be involved in their child&'s learning. I find them very useful when planning for children's next steps.

An example of the short term planner I will be using in my Reception class from Sept 2012. The spontaneous planning section will be hand written as the week goes on. Everything else will be planned in advance (phonics/whole class/focus activties). LO = Learning objective and these are based on the DMs which I have numbered on a grid. Phonics codes: P= practise/ B =Blending / S= segmenting/ A= Apply I haven't put in the LOs for all Focus activities on this example. I enlarge the document to A3.
