This lesson takes the students through the childhood topic in the AQA sociology A-level qualification. It uses interesting discussion points, video links and small activities to secure students knowledge and engagement.

This lesson equips students taking the AQA AS qualification in sociology. It could be easily adapted for a revision task for year 13 students doing the full a-level qualification also. The lesson focuses on having different ‘stations’ around the room. At each station they are required to complete a different task using each of the assessment objectives. The lesson ends on a reflection of the task enabling students to recognise the skill they most need to work on. I found this really useful for AS revision as it moves away from the standard essay writing or textbook reading revision. I also just changed up the assessment objective weighting (available on the AQA website) and used the same activity for my year 13 students.
