Retreival, language for effect and vocabulary are covered, with all tasks with answers in the presentation so pupils can self/peer assess, extension tasks are also provided. It follows an ‘I do/we do/you do’ format.</p>

<p>Originally taught to year 5, the first in a set of 6 lessons on the topic of volcanoes. Intro to the 3 states, labeling the parts ending with a multiple choice quiz testing recall of the subject specific vocabulary. Powerpoint presentation with accompanying handout.</p>

Sorting task of advantages and disadvantages, then a design task to market a town thats located near a volcano to apply knowledge covered in the lesson. <p>Originally taught to year 5, the 5th in a series of 6 lessons on volcanoes. Starts with game to test prior knowledge of key terms. Introduces plate boundaries and looks at the ring of fire. Accompanying worksheet provided.</p>

<p>Originally taught to year 5, second in a series of 6 lessons on the topic of volcanoes. This recaps on lesson 1, showing images of the key features. It explains pyroclastic flow, volcanic bombs and the stages of an eruption. There is quite a lot in this lesson, so may lend itself to being split into 2.</p>

<p>Originally taught to year 5, 4th lesson in a series of 6 on volcanoes. Presentation on the different types of movement, which starts with a recap for knowledge retention on the structure of the earth and an catchy song from youtube. Ends with a fun practical using oreos (or the like) which I found online, and the children really enjoyed. Accompanying handout is 2 to an A4 page to save paper/printing.</p>
