Year 5/6 Victorian Topic Everyday Mystery Items Prediction and Reveal

(0)
Save yourself hours trying to create an engaging topic lesson! These resources were created for my current Year 6 class. All photos of original Victorian everyday items are provided. I placed two items on each table, and the children were asked to work collaboratively to predict: what the item was used for; what it is called; what it is made from; who would have owned it; and how was it made? I then moved the photos around the tables and repeated this process until all photos had been discussed by all table groups. The children then returned to the carpet, and I revealed how to items were used to the children. In this resource, you will find: photos of the Victorian objects; a PowerPoint presentation, revealing all of the items, including detailed explanations; a success criteria for the lesson; and two differentiated worksheets for the children to fill out (BA includes sentence starters , and Ha lined template). This lesson can also easily be linked to science by discussing different types of materials, different metals, conductivity, the difference between etc. Having carried out this lesson already, seeing how enthusiastic and engaged my class were, I'm sure it will be just as successful for you too. Please note all photos were taken by me, and these items belong to a family member of mine.
