NPQSL Project Assignment (2019) PASSED (28/28)

(0)

Now studying a Masters in Business Administration for Senior Leadership in Education, I have been fortunate enough to engage in and subsequently pass the NPQSL through the Alliance of Leading and Learning previously. If you’re looking for an idea of what the assignment and appendices should look like then look no further!
The course has recently been revamped for the academic year 2018/2019 with the assessment standards mapped across 6 content areas:

strategy and improvement

teaching and curriculum excellence

leading with impact

working in partnership

managing resources and risks

increasing capability

Once you have settled on your project and it has been agreed you will be required to write a 5000 word report. This outlines the project context, it’s planning, it’s implementation and the evaluation of it’s impact along with supporting documents inclusive of an action plan, initial data analysis, a communications plan, a business case, a risk management plan and final pupil performance data. (These supporting documents must be no more than 12 pages long and do not contribute towards the final word count).

Having completed and passed the course and produced the assignment materials I would highly recommend the following:

Agree with your sponsor and awarding body your project, (this must impact across the whole school, not just a single class or year group).

Start with your initial data analysis.

From here you can then put together a business case of potential strategies and interventions, selecting the most cost effective and sustainable method.

Assess the risks to your selected project and identify ways in which these can be reduced or managed.

Draw up your action plan for the project along with how you intend to communicate your strategies to stakeholders.

Once the two terms of the project have ran, (in line with your deadline of course), analyse and compare your data against the initial data you collected.

Now you are ready to start writing your report - ensure you start at least 4 weeks before your draft deadline. This is essential for any tweaks and amendments the project report may need before the final deadline.

Many, many thanks to those that have utilised the resources so far - I hope they’ve been of use. Please feel free to leave any feedback or reviews to help any further NPQSL candidates in the future…

And good luck!!

More information can be found through:
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/national-professional-qualification-for-senior-leadership-npqsl
