GCSE Music AQA Revision Musical Elements Sheets

(0)
This revision sheet covers musical elements required for the AQA specification. (Although I’m sure it could still be useful for other exam boards too) There is an A4 pdf black and white version as well as a colourful A3 word doc version for when budgets allow it! I encourage my pupils to stick the A3 version on their bedroom walls and keep the A4 version in their revision folders. One of the main problems my pupils have is remembering which keywords and features go with which element. These sheets help them to categorise things visually and include enough information that peers or family members can use to question and test the pupils whilst being brief enough to not overload with information!

GCSE Music Elements Gap Fill

This pack contains a gap fill exercise on musical elements keywords and their definitions suitable for AQA GCSE music specification. (Although I’m sure it’ll still be useful with other exam boards too!) Pupils have to fill in either the keyword or the definition covering a range of features for all of the musical elements. There is a sheet with the completed tables which can be used for checking answers or given out as a revision sheet. There’s also a little help sheet to prompt lower ability pupils. Great to leave as part of a cover lesson too or as homework.

Haydn Clock Symphony Questions

(0)
This pack includes short questions to help pupils revise the AQA GCSE Haydn set work. The Key Features Qs and As sheet is for pupils to link up the questions to the answers in the table. It helps to build confidence as it’s multiple choice and in my experience pupils tend to find this one of the most daunting parts of the GCSE exam. The sheet can then be used as a revision sheet once completed. I’ve also found sheets like this helpful to leave as cover work or homework as required. There’s also a sheet with 25 questions all about the Clock Symphony. I’ve used these printed out and passed around the students as a revision task along with my other 25 question resources on elements, genres and the Beatles set works which are available on here. I’ve also used the 25 questions sheet in quiz games such as blockbusters. I always find it handy having a load of quiz questions ready to go on my desk for those little extra bits of lesson time you sometimes manage to find and in the run up to mocks etc.

GCSE Music Elements and Genres 50 Qs

(0)
This pack contains 25 questions on musical elements and 25 questions on musical genres covered in the AQA GCSE specifciation. There are also documents including the answers! I have used these printed out around the room for pupils to answer as many as they can in a minute and then pass along. I also use them to play quiz games such as blockbusters with the pupils. It’s always handy to have a bank of questions on your desk if you’ve got a bonus 15 minutes at the end of a theory lesson! I also have Haydn and Beatles versions of these in my AQA set works resources available on here.
