A set of posters designed for an interactive Year 3 Science Rocks, Fossils and Soils display. The information is suitable for the Year 3 Primary Science National Curriculum but goes a little deeper into types of rocks and soils to help children take their own knowledge a little further. All images have been sourced under Creative Commons License.

An adaptable resource to introduce students in Key Stage 2 to plant classification and suitable for revision of the basics in Key Stage 3. The worksheets outline the four main groups of the plant kingdom and their characteristics (including answers). They are flexible and editable so that teachers can design their own activities or can be used when students are researching further details or examples. The plant cards show examples of plants commonly found in the UK and could be used as a resource for forest school activities.

A key word and phrase mat, one for LKS2 and one for UKS2 which contain editable vocabulary and phrases to support conclusion writing skills for primary science. Created with SEN children in mind but also useful for all when developing conclusion writing early in the academic year.

The example vocabulary is for Year 3 light and Year 6 electricity topics although this can be edited for other areas of the primary science curriculum. The LKS2 phrases aim to support simple explanations and start to develop the children’s ability to discuss their measurements or data.
The UKS2 phrases build on this using a range of phrases which encourage children to compare, analyse and justify their ideas.

I will be using these to support children with dyslexia, lower ability pupils and those who find organising their ideas more challenging.

A simple board game for 2-3 players aimed at EYFS or Year 1 to develop number sense and practise number bonds or addition strategies. It could also be used to support children in maths intervention lessons such as Numbers Count or Catch-up Maths.
