A series of 17 Precision Teaching resources based on Year 3 grammar objectives, with a few Year 2 objectives to recap. Every day, we spend 5/10 minutes looking at the new rule, then do a mini test each day - the same objective and same test for the whole week. The children try to improve either their score or their time every day. Sometimes, we then do another mini-test the following week to see if they have retained the information.
The resources include a mixture of powerpoints or SMART notebooks to introduce the objective, along with test papers.
We have seen a marked improvement in the children applying the grammar into their independent writing.

22 times tables tests which I use with my Year 3 pupils. They focus only on x2, x5, x10 which are Year 2 objectives, then x3, x4, x8 for Year 3 objectives. The idea is to deepen learning following the mastery approach with missing numbers problems to solve, and using the inverse calculation.

I create these writing help mats at the start of a new topic. Includes vocabulary, sentence starts, top tips for features of that genre of writing. This mat was made for use with Year 3 at the start of a unit of work on Roman Myths.
