<p>This booklet allows pupils to explore a range of authorial techniques whilst reading Holes by Louis Sachar. Areas for learning include: setting, characters, theme and narrative, imagery and author’s style. In my experience this booklet has worked best as a tool to spark discussion and investigation of the text.</p>
