Halving Numbers and Shapes

(0)
For use with KS1 children on halving numbers and shapes (probably best suited to Year 1)

The halving numbers worksheet has two levels of difficulty. One where children simply solve halving questions up to 20. One the second (easier) sheet there is space for children to draw pictures into two circles (i.e. halve the number).

The halving shapes worksheet where children have to split simple shapes in half and colour each halve. A challenge sheet with more complex shapes follows this.

Please rate if you like this resource :-)

Ideal for EYFS or KS1 where children are beginning to recognise coins and use them to find totals.

3 differentiated worksheets where children need to add the coins together to find the total.
1 sheet uses only 1p coins, the next sheet uses 1p and 2p coins and the third sheet uses 1p, 2p and 5p coins.

Children could colour or tick the coins as they add them up or lay the actual coins over the pictures of the coins to help them.

The coins are an accurate representation of real coins.

Please rate if you like this resource :-)

Addition - Missing Numbers

(0)
Ideal for KS1 where children are learning about missing numbers in addition calculations i.e. when the answer is not always after the equals sign.

6 differentiated worksheets where children need to work out how many more to add to a given number to find the total. Alternatively it can be used to help reinforce the relationship between addition and subtraction i.e. take away the given number from the total to find the missing number.

The worksheets vary in difficulty; one where all totals are 5, one where all totals are 10 and one where all totals are 100 (and the numbers are all multiples of 10). The other three sheets have a range of answers up to 10, 20 and 50.

Please rate if you like this resource :-)

Number bonds to 5, 10, 20 and 100

(0)

4 different worksheets where pupils have to find the missing number in the number bond pair to totals of 5, 10, 20 or 100.

The worksheets can be used at the end of a series of lessons so children can practise formally recording their knowledge or they could be used alongside some resources such as cubes/counters etc to allow the children to practise their number bonds practically.

The worksheet where the total is 100 uses only mutiples of 10, building on the number bonds to 10 knowledge. It could be used as a more challenging sheet to begin with or as an extension after the worksheet totally 10.

Please rate if you like this resource :-)

Draw around coins and find their totals

(0)
3 different worksheet templates that I have used before with Year 1 (could be used with other year groups) where children drew around different coins, wrote in the middle of the coin the value and then wrote the total of the coins in each box.

Could also be used for problem solving e.g. can you find 6 different ways to make 20p, draw around the coins to show each way on the sheets.

Makes a nice alternative to counting money on worksheets as the children really enjoy generating their own questions. It could be a nice opportunity to get children to work together and check each others work at the end too.

Please rate if you like this resource :-)
