History Literacy Bookmarks

Useful for KS3 and GCSE, these bookmarks contain the basic literacy and source skills needed for successful writing. Included are:- PEEL paragraphs with sentence starters and connectives. COP source utility and reliability prompts Writing Non-Negociables I am using them during peer and self assessment, to remind students what they should be looking for. However, they are useful during lesson time to jog a students memory. They could also be used with SEN during assessments to support their literacy. They have been carefully arranged so should print back to back saving you time.

Edward VIII Abdication Crisis

This is a lesson I taught to year 7 history at the end of the 'People Power' module. The aim of the module was for students to answer the question 'how did Britain become a constitutional monarchy?', this lesson was designed to illustrate that by the Second World War, the monarchy had very little power. I am not overly happy with the source questions so please feedback if you can improve them. I am always grateful of feedback, I am still a relatively new teacher and I am always looking to improve.

This is a word mat with key words, a timeline, how to use sources (using NPOC) and connectives on the back. I take no credit for the connectives (I think I found it on here so thank you to whoever created it).
