Book work is page referenced and with mark allocation. If you use a different version of the book, you may need to adjust / ignore the page references.<br />

<p>Focusing on a short extract from The Dragon and Saint George this Guided Reading resource looks at the impact the language has on the reader.<br />
The resource comprises a lesson plan linked to reading domains, a word activity (starter), a PEE chart (point, example, explain), a sheet of questions with marks and domains indicated.</p>
<p>It is ideal for children working at National Standard or moving towards Greater Depth in their reading comprehension.</p>

This is a Smart Notebook presenting the weather with the words for reading and writing. <br />
The sheet with the pictures with words on is designed to be used for team games so each child has a picture and word for listen and respond activities. It can also be used to support the children when they are writing sentences in Spanish.<br />

There is a tally chart which I used with Early Start Spanish, but if you do not have this DVD then you can use the same idea with whatever video clip you can find.<br />

The seasons is an extension on the theme.
<p>PPT presentation of basic meet and greet pictures to be accompanied by the teacher saying the word and ideally with an action. THe words for each picture is in the notes box under the slide.<br />
Then there are picture cards for a class team game - fast paced / high involvement. There is a simple poem / song and a paired activity.</p>
<p>Focusing on an extract from Private Peaceful, by Michael Morpurgo, (p153 - 154) this guided reading session provides a deeper anaylsis of language choices, literacy devices and impact on the reader. It is ideal for children working confidently at National Expectation and moving towards Greater Depth.</p>

<p>This includes 3 guided reading sessions with strategy check for unfamiliar words and guidance for the teacher as the children read the book. There are also two book work activities which comprise a series of questiosn with page references and marks to guide the children.</p>
<p>Note - there are different versions of this book so in the teacher lesson plans, when a page has been noted, there are two page referenes. You may need to check which edition you have and adjust accordingly.</p>
<p>A smart board prepared with the colours for drilling (listen / repeat) plus a song and some games.<br />
Aimed at KS1 but with the word cards and cards with colours, it could use in lower KS2 with more reading involved.<br />
Note - this does not have a sound recording you will have to be able to say the colours in Spanish!</p>
