Limiting Factors Activity

<p>The first page is what you need to print and give to the pupils as the ‘plant’. I print them in green and get them laminated so they last longer. The second page contains the light, temperature and carbon dioxide cards. You print these and cut them out before putting the pieces into envelopes. Make sure that each set of cards is missing something (one set has very few L cards, one has very little T cards etc . . . ). Pupils pull the cards out of the envelopes at random one at a time and ‘build’ their plant. Pupils cannot grow their plant to the next level until they have completed the previous level. If a pupil pulls a card out that they already have for that level they put it back in the envelope. Ask the class: Does anyone have any problems growing the plant? Explain that they are all missing something and that the things they are lacking is the limiting factor!</p>
