Outstanding lesson plan- maths: sharing and halving

(2)
Suitable for Reception and Year 1. I planned and taught this lesson to my reception class -'outstanding' grade. I am happy to share the full observation feedback (send PM). Based on the Goldilocks story, the children learn by 'teaching' Goldilocks (a puppet/toy) how to be good at sharing. I was commended on the level of engagement, challenge and differentiation within the lesson. It's a very fun and interactive lesson, which I hope you enjoy teaching too. Includes: ppt: Letter from Goldie (the hook) Division/halving questions word list Lesson plan: all aspects covered with outdoor activity Feedback stickers 'How to share' (success Criteria) cards Attribution: All photos and clipart from public domain (creative commons) Other photos taken by myself.

Marking Stickers- Common Errors

(1)
NEW INTRODUCTORY PRICE This growing set of over 30 sticker designs addresses the most common errors seen by school teachers across the globe. Keep students aware and engaged with their targets 'on the go' by adding them as stickers to an optional, specially designed bookmark.Instead of just writing comments in books, only to have them hidden from view as students turn to a new page each day, add your most common comments as fast and effective stickers to each students personal bookmark. This way they have a visual reminder of their targets as they work, and a handy editing tool for when they've finished. Alternatively, stick them in books as a faster method than writing the comment. Many thanks p.s to use as stickers get avery address labels as instructed in notes. Mrs.P @TeachSmarter

Year 2 branching Databases

Lesson Plan & Powerpoint This is a simple powerpoint that I made to teach branching databases to a year 2 class. For the activities, I had a lower ability group completing a large branching database (tree diagram) with a TA. The middle ability completed a database by cutting and sticking objects into the right boxes (independently). I worked with the more able children to sort toy cars. and make up questions to create a branching database on the carpet area. The lesson planning notes are in a very basic format. This was taught during a successful job interview. Thanks for looking! Read less

Reception Guided Reading record sheets

Two sheets for writing comments during guided reading in reception. I printed the documents back to back. One side has the template for recording notes and the other side has the reading expectations from Development Matters for easy reference. Group guided reading sheet: For groups of up to 6 children. I would choose between 1 and 3 targets from DM's or sometimes other relevant skills. At the end of the session I would write comments about their reading against these targets. and note whether they were developing, secure or exceeding against each target (in the 1,2,3 boxes) Individual reading sheets were given to TA's, parent helpers or other adults who read with children individually as a record of this happening. At the end of each half term/term I was able to use these records towards evidence for progress and achievement during assessment week.

Here are the documents that I made to add to our growing and changing topic in reception. This includes: Completed medium term plan Homework booklet for parents Baby photo request letter Food price labels for role play cafe The baby photos were used for a guess the baby competition. We also used them in a focus literacy (writing) activity, comparing them to a recent photo of each child and writing about how they had changed.
