Outline pictures of Grannie Island and Grandma Mainland in a Word Document. I created the pictures in Paint to use for a display of children’s writing. Second file includes writing lines - I needed to update my original version for this year’s group! Display file was set up to print on A3 - make sure you scale it to A4 if you don’t have an A3 printer available… The sentences and connectives are the ones I used in the writing lessons. For the display they were cut up and scattered around the board in between some of the Grandmothers the children had used for writing their own sentences.

The resource has been updated with 4 extra files - two notebook and two Word files exploring connectives and compound sentences

This resource has a word file of display words on glasses shapes. They provide alternative vocabulary for young writers to use in place of saw and looked. Couldn’t find what I wanted on the web, so decided to make my own…!!!

Hundred square display questions and spider

(9)
I've used this as an ongoing "Miss-I've-finished" or "something-to-do-during-registration" type display. A spider to stick on one of the numbers on your hundred square and questions to go round the edge. The questions on this one were made for a Year 2 class but would be easy to edit for older children. A KS2 colleague uses a blank hundred square rather than one with numbers on!

Photos in .jpg format of a wasp nest that was built in our garden this summer. The nest is still whole, apart from a section cut off the back so you can see the internal structures. There are leaves and twigs from the corkscrew hazel woven into the structure!
