Eight page booklet : define rivers keywords, comparison of the Rivers Severn and Nile; a SPAG exercise about the Humber Estuary; a page to annotate a map of the Colorado to show the importance of the river basin; a moral dilemma based on the water conflict between the USA and Mexico; a look at the holiness of the Ganges; and finally research to find the etymology of British river names

SoW: How is Waste Affecting the Planet?
This unit is created in line with my personal passion for Geo-Politics. This unit is framed around both the physical and human impacts and causes of waste on our planet, and the process and systems within them. A conscience effect has also been made to embed dual coding and retrieval within this SoW, as well as much differentiation and debating.

This homework worksheet is aimed at KS3 students and includes a set of 6 success criteria. This is a cross-curricular project with Geography which allows students to develop their research skills as well as deepening their knowledge about the capital of France . Because the project homework requires students to mainly respond to the success criteria in English, it allows parents to get involved in the completion of the homework too.
Eight page booklet : define geological keywords; compile a fact file about a geological time period; a SPAG exercise about British geology; a page to research how humans use clay, limestone, marble and sandstone; a moral dilemma: spend money on repairing a historic cathedral or to look after the poor and homeless; complete a database about some of the World's holy rocks and stones; and finally a page to research questions about the UK's geology
Eight page booklet : define weather and climate keywords; map the areas of the World to show general effects of Climate Change; SPAG exercise about rising sea levels; questionnaire to survey attitudes towards Climate Change; Moral dilemma about family holidays abroad; personal responses to some religious quotes about the environment; description of how Climate Change may affect our heritage sites
A homework booklet which provides three detailed case studies where human activity has affected the environment substantially - the Arctic, the Great Barrier Reef and the Amazon Rainforest. The case studies provide information to be read before students then engage in three sets of differentiated challenge questions and activities.
Created initially for Year 8 but left editable, this could be set as homework over three weeks or as one more substantial homework piece.
