Refugees, Migration Human Rights

(8)
2 hours worth of resources, with PowerPoint clips and question sheet, info + source sheets, differentiated fully for KS3/4 or Citizenship GCSE. The lesson investigates the differences between refugees and asylum seekers, looks at the asylum process, follows individual case studies, investigates the opinions of the public on immigration and invites students to form their own conclusions based on evidence. Easily adapted as all editable. Includes different level tasks for MA,LA or Core and easy to follow. The images included are just so you can see what’s in the lesson. As the PowerPoint is a large file it has been zipped :) Check out the EC Publishing website for full, affordable PSHE, Citizenship and RE Packages for all year groups including the new 2024 Complete PSHE Package. SoW: What are the causes and consequences of migration? L1: Why are some areas of the world more densely populated than others? - Free - https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/-12695361 This unit is created in line with my personal passion for Population & Migration. This unit is framed around the cause and consequences of the global population growth, and the process and systems behind this geographical issue. A conscience effect has also been made to embed dual coding within this SoW, as well as much differentiation and scaffolding. This Unit is my favorite to deliver and has been streamlined over the last two years. Happy to answer questions and any feedback appreciated… SoW: L1: Why are some areas of the world more densely populated than others? L2: How Does Population Structure Differ in Developing and Developed Countries? L3: Where are the world’s megacities? L4: How does urban growth create challenges and opportunities? Empires & Migration - Scramble for Africa

(1)
A full week/two weeks of resources for teaching the Scramble for Africa to Year 9 (could also be adapted for a more-able Year 8 class, if pursuing a three-year GCSE course). This is part of a wider ‘Empires and Migration’ topic. Included is a lesson pack covering this aspect of a scaffolded ‘Empires and Migration’ topic (brought down from GCSE - other lesson packs available on my shop!) Each lesson pack includes a PowerPoint (with integrated videos, worksheet screenshots and activities), individual worksheets and contemporary sources (where required) These resources were originally designed for paperless teaching on OneNote; however, it will work perfectly for exercise book teaching (simply replace ‘on OneNote’ with ‘in your exercise books’ on the slides). The Oxford and Hodder ‘Empires and Migration’ textbooks are needed to teach some aspects of this range of resources! (However, these are not widely used and activities could easily be adapted).
