ISSUES & DEBATES Revision Powerpoint AQA Psychology

(1)
Designed to recap the whole issues and debates module for AQA Psychology 2015 spec. Most topics are condensed to one manageable slide that can be turned into revision cards. I give the students a copy of the student version (usually 2 slides to page) to complete and annotate while I go through the teacher version as a class. Sometimes asking them to complete it before I go through it. I have uploaded a similar thing for some first year topics and Gender, Forensic and Schizophrenia in second year topics.

AQA Psychology issues and debates work booklet

(2)
Work booklet given to students to complete independently. Makes an excellent summer project or revision resource. Students had some knowledge of the issues and debates content but had not covered it in any great depth. This booklet therefore contains enough detail for them to have a good understanding of the content but also leaves enough gaps for the students to use their existing knowledge and additional research skills to complete. Knowledge review questions are included at the end of every sub topic. As always, I recommend students use the Tutor2u and Simply Psychology sites as a point of reference. Levels of explanation picture credit to Tutor2U Psychology.

Holism & Reductionism - Year 2 Debates - AQA Psychology

This lesson covers the ‘Holism-Reductionism debate’ as part of the Year 2 issues and debates section. It would take around 1 double lesson to deliver. It consists of a powerpoint and a student work booklet. There are a range of activities and questions included for students to complete throughout with a knowledge check at the end to assess understanding. There is also a focus on exam question construction and model paragraphs. There are two versions of the booklet; student and teacher. For the student booklet, there are blank spaces throughout and students need to copy down any text written in bold/colour on the powerpoints in their booklets. I find that this helps students remember key terms and phrases. The teacher copy is already filled in. Alternatively, this could also be used for students if time was limited. These lessons are especially good for non-specialist or NQT teachers. Remote Learning Update I believe that these resources are suitable for remote learning. I have been delivering the powerpoints via a virtual classroom (or a pre-recorded voice over) and have just simply added in some interactive quizzes from various external platforms. I have been giving the students the teacher version of the booklet so that they have suitable notes that link specifically to the lesson although some students still prefer to use the student version and make their own notes.
