This noise meter features 4 noise levels for your class to follow. The first page is a poster that can be stuck up to remind your class of the different levels. The last four pages can by cut out so that you can hold up or hang up the level that you want your class to be at.

There are four noise levels. These include silent snails, whisper whales, partner parrot, and loud and proud lions. My class loved using actions to represent the different animal sound levels such as snail antennae for silent snails, a whale spout for whisper whales, patting their shoulder for partner parrot, and roaring like a lion for loud and proud lion.

Adapted from an idea in Bill Rogers Classroom Behaviour book. It’ll all make sense when you download it, but i’ve done each bit on a different page and then you glue/sellotape them in a square and put the circle in the middle and then attach the arrow with a split pin/blue tack. I’ve put what it should look like on the last page. I’ve found it v. good with KS1 in particular.

Hello!

I use this resource as a classroom management tool. It’s cut out and laminated and I use a simple wooden peg to indicate which level of noise we should be using.

Although we never use our outside voice inside the classroom, it’s good to have it there so that children understand the difference and the appropriate time/place to use it.

This document is a PDF.

3 complete noiseometers, to enhance the learning in your class. Choose the style that best suits your class or change every now and then to mix things up.

All ready for you to quickly print out and pop up on the wall so you can enjoy teaching with this tool for clear communication with your class.

Works well laminated as well, either in A4 or A3 size.

Save your voice when teaching and simply turn the arrow to point at the level of noise you would like.

All reviews welcome.

This noise monitor can be used to monitor noise within your classroom.
This fun display keeps pupils engaged and can be edited to add in your own bitmoji.

Includes 20 variations of the banner for different classroom themes!
-polka dot
-metalwork
-tropical
-hessian
-marble
-rainbow
-pastel
and more!

Cut out these banners and stick each letter to the board with blutac. When the noise level is too high, remove a letter, beginning with the E. Keep removing letters as needed, until you are left with NO. Then the children will need to work in silence. If the disruption continues, flip the O to reveal a “playtime minute deduction” of your choice. Do the same with N. We almost never need to use the minute deductions!

Great classroom management tool!

With soothing earthy tones and a stylish but simplistic design, this noise level chart is the perfect addition to any classroom. Designed to be printed and laminated for repeated uses, this chart includes five noise levels to clearly indicate the volume that students should be working at:

Silence

Whisper voice

Partner voice

Group voice

Outside voice

This PowerPoint uses traffic lights to remind students that sanctions will be used if noise goes into the amber and red levels.

Please note: this does not actually measure noise, but with just a mouse click nobody needs know that!!!
Back to School : Noise-O-Meter
This is a great visual way of letting your class know just how loud they are!!
This visual PowerPoint can be used with your classes for noise management. There are instructions in the PPT on how to use this INTERACTIVE resource. Please note, This doesn't automatically measure the noise levels within the classroom. It is for the teacher to determine whether the noise levels are acceptable and to click the appropriate segment for the relevant message to be displayed.
Please leave a comment if you have the time, it would be much appreciated.
