This entertaining traditional tale retelling imparts a moral lesson about how generosity and perseverance can be rewarded. This is a complete resource to go alongside the teaching of Claro 2 ¡Te he dicho que no!, Unit 5.3. The power point starts with a match up activity of all the verbs used in the unit, in order that students are familiar with them in the listening and reading texts. Then there is a slide for Leer 1, Escuchar 2 and 3 and an extension task for this exercise using the listening as a gap fill activity to practise dictation and phonics skills. This moves onto an explanation of the direct object pronouns and a slide to practise these, and then it moves onto Leer 4 and an extension activity. After this the conversation phrases are introduced with some examples to read aloud and translate. This is then followed by a text for reading aloud and translating. Lastly is Traducir 5 and a plenary game to finish. This pack contains 30 close reading comprehensions and questions that are suitable for Reception to Year 2 depending on the ability of your students. There are a range of comprehensions that gradually get harder and require the students to read and answer more questions as they progress through each comprehension. The initial comprehensions are simpler and have 3 questions and build up to more complex passages with 9 questions by the final comprehensions. These are great to use for whole class activities, guided reading, or both independent and supported work or homework. These are based on the reading outcomes from the National Curriculum for Year 1 and 2. Please note these are not the same as my 10 Early Years reading comprehensions. These are more complex.
