Weather Spelling Activity

(0)
This spelling activity is a great way for your students to work on their spelling skills in a fun and engaging way with the theme of the weather. Students have to look at the image of the type of weather at the top of the page, then the word underneath, and then either using a dry wipe pen or the spelling letters included, spell the word that they can see. This resource includes 5 different cards, each containing a different image that is linked to theme of the weather. This activity will also provide a great language activity, encouraging students to sound out the letters that they are using to spell with, and discuss the images that they can see. I recommend cutting out and laminating each of the pieces individually to make them stronger and prolong the use of them. These are an excellent addition to your classroom to see if students are able to recognise, match and spell

Weather report

I made this resource for my year 1 class but other classes in year 2 and 3 used it too. The children used it as a basis for a weather report after looking at weather images the previous day. Later that day the children filmed each other in front of a map of the UK giving the weather report after watching some weather reports in the local news by using the ideas from the sheet and other ideas of what the weather type was to suggest activities to do that day. It was fun, engaging and a way to extend a daily weatherboard in a real and relevant way.
