<p>This lesson introduces Elizabeth Barrett Browning’s ‘How Do I Love Thee’ (Sonnet 43) from the Eduqas GCSE anthology. It includes a non-fiction reading activity, dual coding timeline for context, and close analysis of structure, form, imagery and language techniques. The lesson concludes with an essay question, which could be done in a second lesson or as homework. Also works well if followed by another poem and a comparison task.</p>

<p>The 4 AQA style practice papers each include both parts of the unseen section of the exam: One unseen followed by an unseen comparison.<br /> Two of the papers have similar question for both parts - to support and enable students in their preparation.</p>

<p>This peer assessment sheet is great to get students reviewing and enjoying each other’s work while becoming more familiar with some of the GCSE English Language assessment criteria. Made for AQA, but also works with Eduqas and Edexcel specifications. This has helped my students to improve their writing and be much more aware of simple things they can do to increase the variety of techniques used in their writing.</p>
