Here is all of the planning and resources I produced for an Explanation Texts topic for a Year 4 class.<br /> <br /> The theme is Wallace and Gromit's Cracking Contraptions. Children invent their own machine then explain how it works.<br /> <br /> Includes a letter from Wallace as an introduction and inventor cards to wear or carry.<br /> <br /> EDIT: The 'Shark Text' as mentioned was changed in late stages to being the Teacher Pleaser Machine by Pie Corbett<br /> <br /> EDIT October 2020 - So pleased that this resource is still being used by people. By popular demand, I have converted the .notebook files to PPT files. <p>Year 6 maths.<br /> Rounding decimals to 3dp.<br /> Long division.</p> <p>Using stats from the Premier League, students are asked to calculate goals per game or assists per game (long division practise) and to then round these answers to nearest whole number, 1dp, 2dp and 3dp.</p>

<p>Year 6 Ratio Work</p> <p>Students are tasked with creative a scale model of the Hawker Hurricane using the dimensions provided. Students will have to convert from feet and inches to metres and centimetres, and also use ratio and proportion to scale down.</p> <p>We use art straws for this.</p> <p>Can be done with support or independently for G&amp;T students.</p>
