I created these two PowerPoints for a Year 11 class in preparation for a Controlled Assessment. Analysis and Context included. I have adapted it to suit a low-ability KS3 class, which link up nicely with the essay help sheets.

<p>Here are several PPTs all linked to teaching ‘The Outsider’ by Albert Camus at IB level. However, these could be adapted for A-Level or other groups. Links to context, as well as close text study. For clarity, the PPTs do contain another text as an IB resource so should you require exclusively ‘The Outsider’ then this resources may not be for you.</p>

I made this for homework for a mid-set Year 10 class. This was designed to consolidate their understanding and keep for revision. There is also an opportunity for extended writing.

I used this with my C/D borderline students to push them to use higher order punctuation in their writing. It worked incredibly well.

This is a PPT I created on the topic of Satire. It goes into enough depth for a top set, which can easily be deducted for lower sets. A fun lesson to teach.

The PPT and resources create a beautiful lesson to show students how to go from a level 5 to a 6 in English, with regards to reading. I chose an extract from a book that the class were reading. You may find you need to adapt it for your particular group.

I use these resources with my low ability Year 7 class. It helps to keep students on task and achieve at their own pace. The colour coding and regular 'check-ins' helps me to know where students are and LSAs to support on different tasks.

This SOW has been designed for Year 9 students, but could also be used for revision and teaching for Y10 and 11. The idea behind this SOW is that it is an 'in-depth introduction' to the first act of Macbeth. Lessons are also structured around SOLO Taxonomy: building knowledge throughout the lessons.
