Creative writing task looking at the conventions of fairytales through Roald Dahl's &'Little Red Riding Hood&';. Used originally for a Year 5/6 transition lesson, it is easily adaptable for both KS2 and KS3.
This resource was originally used with both Year 10 and Year 11 as part of ongoing preparation for the new Edexcel language GCSE. The objective is to practise and understand the requirements needed to address AO2. There are two examples on the powerpoint for students to annotate and discuss improvements, with an opportunity for the most extended answer to be used as scaffolding. I have included a prompt sheet for less able students to structure their responses using PEEEK. There is also one for more able that encourages an increasingly academic style of response, including adverbial openers.

Excellent to use with KS4 to practise reading skills for AQA Language Paper 1. **
Four questions mimicking the exam style are included - can easily be adapted for Edexcel. Great handout, two sides only.
Fantastic homework option too, as the text is very engaging (lots of techniques used too!)
