<p>This SOW gives a lesson by lesson approach to the WJEC English Language skills (reading and writing) from 2015 specification onwards. The SOW focus is ‘celebrities’ and it logically progresses through the reading and writing skills examined in Unit 2 and Unit 3.</p> <p>Designed with NQTs new to the WJEC spec in mind, it gives detailed instructions to teachers and provides answers to tasks.</p> <ul> <li>Formatted in new Office 365, many PPs with the font Modern Love.</li> </ul>

<p>Designed as a form time intervention activity - a two page worksheet with tasks that all aim to improve pupils’ literacy skills and ability to answer GCSE style questions. All answers included within the PowerPoint and teacher guidance for delivery of content is within the notes section. Tasks lend themselves to the WJEC GCSE English Language specification but could benefit any pupil who needs to strengthen their vocabulary aquisition, improve their reading skills of retrieval, scanning, selection, summary, deduction, verbal reasoning and inference.</p>

<p>This SOW guides learners through the NEA for WJEC GCSE Literature Unit 3.</p> <p>This allows pupils to explore the 15 set poems from the WJEC whilst building to their comparative essay for their Controlled Assessment. <p>These are 3 basic skills lessons for pupils to test their writing ability and remind them how to write in full sentences, using full stops and capital letters. It also allows pupils to practise writing their graphemes (letters). They then practise writing complete sentences accurately in the form of an informal letter.</p> <ul> <li>Planned with a very low ability Y7 in mind, this would be suitable for any pupils who need to revise how to write in full sentences with capital letters and full stops.</li> </ul>

<p>This stand alone lesson revises the skills of retrieval, explain and letter writing. Desgined with KS4 in mind, this could be used for higher ability KS3 classes.</p>

<p>This knowledge organiser guides pupils through how to analyse a poem, gives pupils a glossary of unfamiliar poetic devices, synonyms for ‘this shows’, words to describe tone and poetic forms.</p>
