<p>A scheme of work for KS3 aimed at introducing students to Musical Theatre as a genre.</p>

A fun scheme of work for Year 7/8, giving the students the chance to act as detectives and creators of whodunnits. Intended to improve both their thinking and acting skills.<br /> <br /> My students kept coming up to me out of class, desperate for information on who killed Billy Rainbow. Lots of potential to adapt it further.

<p>Students to do their own research into the life and career of an author of their choice. This will involve doing an in-depth analysis of a novel and a new chapter of a novel. They will need to include evidence of research and sources as well as prepare a presentation to the class.</p> <p>There is also a booklet for them to fill in with all their findings.</p> <p>They will be assessed on all the four criteria of the MYP Language and Literacy curriculum and it is easilty adaptable for Language Acquisition. I have done the unit with grade 7, but it should be fine with other grades.</p>

<p>7 lessons about A Midsummer Night’s Dream, with socially distanced activities, for Key Stage 3 Drama lessons. Each lesson has a different focus, for example comedy and Shakespearean language.</p>

<p>A series of lessons based around the styles of Kneehigh, Paper Birds and Frantic assembly. These lessons will give Key Stage 3 students an insight into these theatre companies ahead of their GCSE Drama studies,</p>

<p>Specifically aimed at the IB Middle Year Programme (MYP), though accessible through other teaching programmes, this is a unit that looks at Silent Movies and encourages students to create their own horror films.</p>

<p>An MYP unit, aiming to get students to create their own character and a Brand to accompany this, e.g. through merchandise or songs etc.</p> <p>I have used this for my Grade 10 class and they really liked it, and created some ace work!</p>

<p>Students write their own Christmas stories, based around traditional Christmas books, tales and poems. There are tasks for all four criteria of the MYP LL programme.</p>
