This lessons looks at the form and structure of a poem. Students develop their understanding of form and structure by looking at a range of shapes and considering their different meanings. The lesson then moves on to single quotes, enabling students to begin to explore and analyse language.<br /> This works well as an introduction to poetry at KS3, or can be used as a start of KS4 Poetry work. Enables students to look at the shape and structure of a poem.

This is a complete lesson, using the poem Nettles as a stimulus to teach unseen poetry. Can be done to teach Unseen poetry in preparation for the Literature exam. Includes analysis of form, structure and language. This lesson contains a planning task, several exam style questions, a writing task, essay exemplars and a self assessment plenary.

This homework task will last for a minimum of 4 weeks, but you can make it last for longer as there are 8 tasks in the booklet. Perfect for end of summer term when you want students to get on with some homework independently.
