This is a lesson aimed at higher ability KS3 students. I have also attached a simplified presentation that could be used for lower ability students. <br /> <br /> Included are come big questions to get them thinking, some calculations so they can apply their knowledge to exam questions and also a short practical activity/demo 'rainbow test tubes'. This involves different concentrations of coloured sugar solutions. They must be added in order of density from most - least or it won't work!

Fun resource used as a recap lesson (revision) for adaptation. Includes a wordsearch used as a starter activity that promotes discussion - and introduces the word 'mimicry&'. Then, students must use their existing knowledge to design and produce a board game, based on adaptations and survival. Students can then take the opportunity to bring extra resources in from home and then play the games - this also provides an opportunity for peer/self assessment.
