<p>5 lessons suitable for Year 5/6 (CM1/CM2 for French bilingual schools)</p> <ul> <li>Hook using Talk for Writing tools</li> <li>Design a book cover worksheet</li> <li>Differentiated reading comprehension questions</li> <li>Teaching question types (inference/retrieval/words in context/evaluative)</li> </ul>

<p>A five lesson unit which culminates in a big write.</p> <ul> <li>Use of Figurative Language (similes/metaphors/personification/onomatopoeia)</li> <li>Upleveling using the Bronze/Silver/Gold method</li> <li>Success Criteria which challenges students to identify key features within their writing</li> </ul> <p>Please note that students will need prior knowledge of figurative language as this is not included in the unit. Can be linked to a unit of work or kept as a stand alone unit.</p>

<p>A series of 5 lessons all linked to Guided Reading skills to enable teaching to be taught in any order. Although Session 1 is recommended for the first lesson.
