Pupils will be required to look at and evaluate existing pop-ups, follow instructions to make different types of pop-up effect, use measuring, cutting and folding skills and design their own product.
We completed an evaluation sheet at the end of our topic.
Very simple powerpoint introducing the idea of pilgrimage. Not specific to any religion but does have an image of St.David's cathedral in Wales as a place of christian pilgrimage.
Welsh themed art project for St David's day celebrations or anytime of year.
A detailed introduction with ideas for use, a work/evidence booklet for pupils and two PowerPoint presentations which can be used with key stage 2 pupils. The booklet can be used as a whole or divided and used as needed. It has a section on Celtic art, culminating in pupils making their own Celtic knot out of clay, and pages covering the art of Sir Kyffin Williams and some landscape painting approaches. Pupils are then able to create their own Welsh landscape work. The two presentations provide background information on both subjects and plenty of visual examples and inspiration. This has been created with all Key Stage 2 ages in mind but younger pupils (years 3 and 4) will need some teacher guidance, modelling of activities and explanations. Year 5 and 6 pupils will be able to work through many of the tasks completely independently. The booklet can be completed over a few lessons or made to last much longer depending on how much detail or independent research and practise you want to dedicate to each task. Skills covered include learning about a famous artist and historic/traditional art, planning, creating and evaluating own work, mixing paints, creating effects using different lines and colour, working with clay, carrying out own research and sharing own views about art works.
The first half of this booklet and one of the PowerPoint presentations could also be used for work on the Celts and their art.
A set of three booklets to be completed by pupils with facts about the artist. They must carry out some research and become familiar with the lives and painting styles of three important artists.

Suitable for years 3 and 4 with some teacher support but could also be used independently by years 5 and 6.

Can be used to lead on to own art work creations but also as an introduction to practice art skills such as creating perspective (Lowry) or shading (O'Keeffe).

The file also includes a small set of flower photographs to use for some Georgia O'Keeffe inspired work if needed.
A booklet for studying four famous landscape artists and their very different styles and techniques. The pupil is requested to look at a painting from each artist and comment on features such as mood, colour used, how texture is created and to share their own views on the painting. Finally there is a blank page for creating their own landscape in their own style, creating a landscape in the style of their favourite artist, or simply for copying their favourite painting in the booklet.

This study can also be used to introduce lessons on various art techniques such as pointillism (Seurat), shading or using colour to convey mood.

Can be used with teacher support by years 3 and 4 but also independently by years 5 and 6.
This file contains sheets of different 2D shapes in varying sizes to be cut out by pupils to create their own Shape Monster.

The sheets are best used copied multiple times onto different coloured paper. The pupils then select the shapes they need in the colour they want.

I have also included a basic 2D shape colour activity, (suitable for extensions/revision work) and a powerpoint page with some more complex shape picture ideas (in this case based on Olympic events).

This work is suitable for Year 1 (with support) and Year 2 but can also be used by a lower ability year 3 or as a useful recap lesson for basic 2D shapes.
This is a set of slides highlighting why we shouldn’t waste food and what it means to be malnourished.
The first few slides show how much a certain food is wasted in the UK each year and what this is equivalent to in weight. It then goes on to explain why wasting food is bad.
The rest of the slides explain what malnutrition is and what we can do to avoid waste and eat a healthy diet. There is also a final prayer slide if needed.
The entire presentation invites pupils to contribute answers and get involved and includes some interesting facts and information.
Perfect for world food day or simply highlighting the need for better diets and how to be a better citizen.

NB - world food day date can be changed
A collection of 8 activities to help create the perfect 'beach day' with your class/

The file includes activities and tasks for quiet time, to do independently, in groups and with a partner.

Lists of resources needed for various activities are included.

Pupils can create a crab painting, carry out an alphabet treasure hunt in the sand, complete a fishy maze worksheet, make some cold and refreshing lemonade, decide what to pack for a day at the beach, design their own kites, work together to create the tallest 'sand castle' from plastic cups or use colourful and delicious-smelling ice-cream play dough to create their own sundaes.
Two simple Power Points which can be used to introduce or reinforce the main features of Islam and the 5 Pillars.

Both are clear and have simple illustrations, easy for children to follow. These presentations cover the main features and terms of the religion and both have a task or activity to complete at the end if desired.

Suitable for Years 3 and 4 but can also be used for younger or older depending on previous knowledge and teacher involvement.
This file contains four mini-investigations to be carried out in pairs or small groups. The investigations are all on the subject of measure. They include a 'potion making' capacity task, a 'post office' weighing task, a 'wavy trail' measuring investigation and a unit of measure conversion puzzle. Each task takes approximately 25 minutes but can be extended or made shorter as needed. Each investigation also has a higher and lower ability version.
Also included are instructions and a list of resources needed for the lesson.

Most suitable for Year 3 and 4.
A lesson that involves using basic 2D shapes to create Olympic pictures. This activity is differentiated by outcome so is easily suited to a range of abilities, but is most suitable for Year2-Year4 pupils to introduce/reinforce 2D shape knowledge.
Pupils will be required to identify basic 2D shapes and recognise the properties of these. It can be used at any point, as an introduction to 2D shapes, to reinforce knowledge or as a useful assessment activity.
This lesson is designed to be fairly flexible and can be adapted quite easily for independent or paired work, or even group work on a larger scale. Work produced can also be recorded in books, on a separate worksheet or makes a very eye-catching class display. Also great as an SEN activity as the work created and images used can be very high contrast and bold and this is an enjoyable, creative, shape activity that encourages a lot of shape vocabulary and discussion.

The lesson file includes;
Introduction - with advice and instructions for carrying out the activity, based on my experience of this lesson.

Powerpoint – the powerpoint presentation with examples of more complex Olympic shape pictures and suggestions for sports to recreate. Step-by-step instructions for the pupil. A slide for recording information if the pupil is doing this in their books rather than using the worksheet provided. And an extension activity.

Worksheet – A worksheet that can be stuck in books or used as part of a class display.

Template resource sheet – pupils need access to accurately drawn shapes. This sheet has images to print and cut-out for templates. If you already have shape templates to draw around they can be used.
If different shapes are needed or different sizes pupils will have to create their own template for these.

A bonus set of images for an Olympic display that can be enlarged as needed and printed.

This file contains activities that can be used either as an introduction to 2-D shape for year 3 and lower ability year 4 (and possibly by year 2) or for recapping and revision of 2-D shapes and their properties.

It includes a shape bingo resource to be printed and laminated, a higher ability ad lower ability short assessment, a simple but fun power point introducing 2-D shapes and a 2-D shape fact file booklet to be printed off and put together for pupils to complete independently.

I found these resources suitable for teaching year 3 and year 4 but can be used for recapping 2-D shape at any age. The resources are used effectively alongside the teaching of some of the main features of shape, for example, symmetry and parallel lines.
This pack contains some of the activities I have used in class over the years, either as one-off lessons, discussions, extension activities or as on-going independent tasks. It contains a range of PSHE-type activities and basically can be used in any classroom to help your pupils consider how they treat others and how they develop their own skills for dealing with situations. Some of the activities can be as quick as 5 minutes done daily for maximum effect. I find they help with class discussions and provide pupils with opportunities to reflect on themselves and their day-to-day. The pack includes questions for reflection, a power point to encourage discussion on how what we say affects others, a basic template for a '100 days of happiness' record, printable table for a class goal, worksheets and tasks for how to deal with problems and how to make someone happy.
Can be done alongside the good Samaritan bible story or when simply discussing how to help others. Can also be adapted to suit year 3 as this is very much a teacher led activity.
Powerpoint only has images of scenarios where help is needed to prompt discussion or record individual responses on the grid provided. My year 1 class are drawing how they would respond to each scenario.
A single slide listing food items and their costs. Can be used to carry out money calculations and word problems. Can also be easily adapted to suit older and younger classes.
A brief powerpoint asking pupils to draw fields with the correct perimeter. Also has a handy squared slide to draw own examples. Can be easily adapted to suit your class' abilities.
A brief powerpoint activity asking pupils to draw fields with a specific area. Also has handy squared slides to give examples on an interactive whiteboard. Can be very easily adapted to suit your class abilities.
