'My Heart is Like a Withered Nut' by Caroline Norton. Contains stimulus questions to prompt exploration of poem, building into an analysis. This worked very effectively as a homework. Poem is taken from WJEC poetry collection.

'First Day at School' by Roger McGough. Worksheet with stimulus questions for exploring the poem, this worked effectively as homework.

Worksheet where pupils write about a space adventure. Features a short piece of text to read first as inspiration! Worked well with two classes of varying ability in year 7.

Questions based on the 'Fast Track Classics' edition retold by Pauline Francis. Five questions on each chapter to support lower ability year 7's as they read the novel.

A lesson on the three types of sentences outlining how to form them, and short writing tasks to test their knowledge. I have used this with KS3 and KS4 and it has been really successful.
