Printable Giant Periodic Table for wall

(18)
This is a giant periodic table, with numbers/names large enough to be seen from the other side of the lab. Each element is on a different page- I printed them A5 size and when assembled the whole table is approx. 130cm x 275cm. The powerpoint is arranged by group so it's easy to print different groups in different colours or print individual elements. Takes a while to assemble but it's been a really useful (and colourful!) classroom reference

Pupils split into groups and given textbook.1 person from each group comes and picks a question card from their group's envelope of questions and takes it back to their group. They all look for the answer in the book & write it in answer sheet. Another member of the group comes and tells you the answer, if right let them pick another Q. First team to answer all wins. Covers: uses of limestone, cement/concrete/glass production and advantages and disadvantages of quarrying (I follow with first 2 minutes of the attached video). Designed for weak group who hate reading but love competition

Gruffalo KS3 Ecology worksheet

Another user TRJ produced a great powerpoint for an activity looking at Ecology through reading the Gruffalo. (https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/ks3-gruffalo-food-webs-chains-id-keys-6369220) I made this worksheet to use with the powerpoint for my Y9s to recap KS3 Ecology and they loved it! Print page 2 and 3 back to back as the worksheet, page 1 is a copy of the story in case they can't remember it. All credit for the idea to the original poster TRJ, I just put it into a worksheet :)

Fairtrade Assembly

Assembly about Fairtrade for KS3 or KS4, it's an amalgamation of an assembly for Fair Trade Fortnight 2016 and 2017, but could be used as an introduction to Fair Trade. Uses the example of how the cost of a chocolate bar is split between producers/company/tax. I print the attached labels and tie string to them so the four volunteers can wear them. Also highlights some of the other things that have Fair Trade options Most of the images are from the Fair Trade Foundation website, the map comes from their 2016 resources. Fair trade stickers and schools packs can be ordered from their website Selection of different you tube links to relevant videos included
