An introduction into electronic structure. Whole lesson including all activities, the electronic structure of the first 20 elements is a modified activity from a different author (griffad 1972) - Thank you. This lesson was taught to a high ability KS3 group, but can be modified for GCSE groups

A fun, interactive way of teaching the three types of nuclear radiation - alpha, beta and gamma. Using a CSI approach. Students really enjoy this format as they work independently to find out about the properties of each type of radiation and use these properties to solve the crime, they then write a report.

Here are some exam question walk through for the AQA Trilogy course.
The walkthroughs are based on general predictions for the 2023 papers, but can be used for guiding pupils through approaches to exam questions.
I have included walkthroughs for Combined Science Biology, Chemistry and Physics paper 1s.

The papers can be used for other years, to develop confidence with exam questions, but these papers are broadly-based on possible predictions for the 2023 exam series.

What’s in the resource?
Exam question practice with hint boxes to approach different questions.
The papers also include QR codes to videos to provide mini tutorials for sepcific topics.

The aim of these is to build confidence for exams.

A guided walk though a selection of exam questions for the AQA Trilogy course.
The walkthroughs can be used for guiding pupils through approaches to exam questions and develop greater confidence with exam questions.

I have included walkthroughs for Combined Science Biology, Chemistry and Physics paper 2s.

Predictions have been harder this year. The nature of questions in the 2023 series has been different to previous years. These papers can also be used for developing exam question confidence.

What’s in the resource?

This resource contains the key concepts required for the AQA Trilogy Combined Science FOUNDATION paper. Ir also includes a walkthrough some examinations questions. It does include possible predictions for the 2019 paper. But I am not an examiner. It can also be used for revising Units 6-10.

Useful for KS3 Science or introduction to magnetism for KS4. Full lesson. Develops knowledge of magnets, permanent magnets, induced magnetism, magnetic domains and magnetic fields.

A series of lessons on forces for KS3 or LA KS3. Lesson 1: Introduction, Lesson 2: Squashing and deforming - Elastic; Lesson 3: Friction, Lesson 4: Mass and weight; Lesson 5: Balanced and unbalanced forces.

An introduction to the properties of alpha, beta and gamma radiation. The lesson is taught in a CSI format to describe the properties of alpha, beta and gamma radiation.

For the main, simply print the CSI slides on the three types of radiation on to cards and get the students to complete the table and identify which type of source was used in the crime.

This powerpoint is a summary of the key ideas in the second Biology paper. It does also include predictions for the 2019 paper, but these will be updated in 2020. The resource can be printed onto cards and used as revision cards. This is aimed at foundation students.

A few lesson on enzymes, introduction, effects of temperature and pH and the AQA required practical (amylase and pH). Includes material taken from Boardworks and thanks to another TES author for me learning mat on enzymes

A lesson introducing or reviewing the concepts of the Greenhouse effect, global warming and climatic change. Where questions are posed this can be used as a market place activity, research or time is not on your side, using a more didactic approach. If facilities allow, you can set up separate laptops around the room with some information and videos set up for students. This was used to review aspects from AQA Trilogy Chemistry of the atmosphere.

If videos don’t work within power point, I have added some extra you tube links

A lesson on variation and inheritance. It covers types of variation, alleles and drawing punnett squares. It also includes an punnett square using the genetics of Harry Potter. Includes a worksheet for students to complete based around Harry Potter.
