9 different sentences starters. I have cut these out back to back and laminated. I use these as part of my display but also for literacy starters: each table comes and chooses a leaf off the tree. Hope they are of use x
I'm an NQT so I used lots of other people&'s idea to form this 3 weekish plan for film narrative. Starting with The Piano by Aidan Gibbons (I borrowed all the resources from other users- Thank you!). Then comparing it to Pixar&';s Up love sequence. Then giving the children the opportunity to listen to music and draw a storyboard for their own (again an idea taken from another user). The children loved this!
A power-point of various pieces of art with questions or activities, useful as a starter to an Art lesson or I use them as a thinking skills session after lunch.
Where it says 'jigsaw&'- print out the picture onto A3 and cut up into smaller pieces. Then give one piece to each child or the children can choose a piece they feel confident with. The finished result looks a lot more like the original and is a good example of team work. I&';ve put up a photo of a picture we did recently.

I’ve made these cards for children to use as a reference when answering practise questions and comprehensions. The cards have a (hopefully) child friendly definition of what the words means. Examples include: ‘extract’- a short passage from the text; ‘suggests’- what idea is given)

I was desperate for something like this after last year’s Reading paper, and as I couldn’t find anything I’ve just made them instead.

On the cards there are 2 symbols which tell the children whether the answer will be in their heads or in the text- quite often a combination of the two.
