Revision lesson suitable for FT students (due to the questions being level 1 and level 2. Deisgned to have 4 stations of knowledge input then 4 different ways to demonstrate knowledge.

Electrolysis Booster lesson which uses modelling to help students to understand. Covers one aqueous, one molten and aluminium oxide. To set up the atoms, ions and electrons need cutting out which does take time but I’ve re-used them a lot and students have found it very useful. Rather than use the electrodes on the sheet I just had them draw on the desk with whiteboard pens.

Connect 4 style game to play with questions relevant to higher tier combined science chemistry. Covers paper 1 and 2. Play as a team of 3, 2 people against each other and one with the answers.

Suitable for AQA combined science trilogy HT. Suitable for students aiming for grade 7. Just throw a dice once for across and a second time for down.

AQA Combined Science Trilogy. Full revision lesson with practical. Practical uses salt, sugar and white sand. Suitable for HT as questions and level 2 and 3.

Suitable for FT students. Hinge question choices lead students to different stations where they re-visit, consolidate or extend. Needs a rates of reaction animation - I can’t upload the flash one I used.

Can’t take credit for the template - I just adapted it. There’s a FT and HT version including the calculations students will need to be able to do for chemistry in AQA combined science trilogy.

Suitable for foundation tier students this 30 minute activity can be used to revise chemistry calculations. Each team will need the answer sheet in A4. The answers can be printed to A4 and the tabs snipped ready for students to pull off and stick to their sheet. Once they have the answers they follow the instructions on the last PP slide to find 2 padlock codes.

Calculation activity suitable for AQA combined science trilogy HT. The excel sheet needs printing and the answer strip slicing so students just come and rip one off. Then just blu tac them around the room. I didn’t make the excel sheet or come up with the idea but whoever did was kind enough to make it really easy to edit.

I gave the students the answer sheet A3 and 20 minutes to work the 8 questions out. Once they’d done this I showed them the crack the code slide and they had to come up with 2 4 digit codes for 2 padlocks ‘locking’ a box with sweets in. The padlocks were just cheap ones from poundland.
