I created this as a ‘placemat’ for children to decorate, laminate and use as a dinner place mat to revise the different sentence types for revision in Year 5/6!

This is a set of lessons linked to the 2017 SATS questions paper for Reading.

Each lesson focuses on how to answer a specific skill from the SATS paper and the children’s activity links to Robyn Hood (Twisted Narrative) taken from the Literacy Shed!

I created this pack as a classroom display for independent readers to ask themselves questions, these are taken from the VIPERS displays but with some added ideas; it is also great to send home to support evening reading with VIPERS reading scheme.

Vocabulary
Inference
Prediction
Explanation
Retrieval
Summary/Sequencing

The examples are a scanned PDF and a Word snapshot of each skill.
Laminate and send home over the Christmas holidays!

For more VIPERS lessons please see my other resource uploads!
Dr Seuss themed 'Tidy up time' powerpoint with music lasting just over 1 minute. The powerpoint includes disappearing dots (reds go slowly and blues speed up) so they know how long is left to go!
Enjoy!
P.s Also included the sound file if needed (taken from Seussical the Musical!)
